Welcome To River Cruises Asia!

PANDAW The Irrawaddy Flotilla Company
With 10 luxury ships exploring four countries, Pandaw is the largest luxury river cruise company in Asia, offering real adventure experience, incredible comfort, fine dining, great cocktails and choice wines, not to mention extraordinary levels of service.
Pandaw's ships were built new and designed and finished as replicas of colonial river steamers. These small ships have the highest space to passenger ratio of any ships afloat - our much loved staterooms are 170 square feet and finished in teak and brass.
The unique Pandaw river expedition concept began in Burma and evolved here from the vestiges of the colonial Irrawaddy Flotilla Company. Pandaw learnt to master river navigation at its worst. These lessons were applied to the other rivers of Asia.
BURMA
Burma, after 1987 renamed by the regime Myanmar, is the largest mainland South-East Asian country and with the greatest variety of scenery from Himalayan peaks to tropical beaches. We have yet to meet a visitor to Burma who does not feel that this is the most beautiful, friendly and culturally interesting Asian country ever visited. The Burmese are very warm and friendly people who since Independence in 1947 have suffered terrible impoverishment and deprivation. We do our best to support the local domestic economy and make sure our suppliers and contractors are small local businesses. We are very careful to make sure our clients' money falls into the right hands. Sanctions and the politically correct refusal of most NGOs and international charities to work in the country have served to exacerbate deprivation and entrench the regime further. Our Pandaw passengers believe that by visiting Burma we are doing something to help as has been proved by the many schools our passengers have built, not to mention the outstanding contribution made by our passengers after Cyclone Nargis struck in 2008. Most of the Burmese our passengers encounter tend to agree with this assumption. These cruises are the most acclaimed luxury vacations on the Irrawaddy River. The itineraries currently are:
• Chindwin & Upper Irrawaddy: 20 nights in remotest Burma
• Golden Land : 8 nights Prome to Mandalay
• Road to Mandalay: 14 nights from Rangoon to Mandalay
• The Golden Land: 10 Nights Mandalay-Pagan-Prome
• The Irrawaddy: 14 nights, 600 miles and see all Burma
Mekong River, between Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam
Pandaw also operates on the Mekong River, between Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. There can be no tapestry of river life as fascinating and varied as the River Mekong. Indeed there can be no more striking a cultural contrast as that between the bustling Vietnam delta and the tranquility of Cambodia. We pass from the vibrant French colonial port of Saigon, through the vast delta so rich in human life and endeavor to travel along the main channel into the rich countryside of Cambodia. With a full day in charming Phnom Penh we then explore remoter waterways as we progress to the great monuments of Angkor. In 2003, with the RV Mekong Pandaw, we were the first ship to attempt this extraordinary journey, surmounting complex bureaucratic and navigational obstacles. We now have five ships plying this amazing waterway. Itineraries are:
Mekong Exploration - between Saigon and Siem Reap or v.v.
